Mardi Himal Trek

0
Mardi Himal
  • 9 Days
  • Group : 1-15 People
  • Guided Trekking
  • Difficulty : Moderate

Mardi Himal Trek is one of Nepal’s least-traveled paths, as many people are unaware of this trek. It is usually taken by people who pick up the beaten trails on Nepal’s most popular trekking routes.

Mardi Himal is a mountain with an elevation of 5587 meters and is a beautifully quiet trekking path relative to others, due to the fact that several people know about the route.

Your trial will bring you via lush rhododendron, magnolia and pine forests, followed by a dazzling view of Annapurna, Fishtail, and Hiuchuli, Tent Peak, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and other mountains. This trek is also designed for people who want the trek feeling but only have few days. It is a low level trek and will carry in Mardi Himal Base Camp at an altitude of 4,500 meters.

We will first cross via the forests, and as the altitude begins to increase, the paths will become less forested. The best time to explore this area would be during the spring season when this region would blossom with flowers of different kinds. The clear skies and the incredible view of the Himalayas will make your experience memorable.

Have a look our most Popular Trekking Package: Annapurna Sanctuary Trek

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, after clearing immigration and customs, at the arrival gate where you will meet and be guided by our airport representative and drive to the hotel for check-in.

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara

Today’s Early Breakfast, drive to Pokhara for approximately 6-7 hours. And arrive at Hotel in Pokhara. Check in & refresh, then rest of your free time for leisure. Either go to explore the lake or take a rest at the hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Phedi and trek to Australian Base Camp, walk 5-6 hrs

We’re leaving early in the morning and heading to Phedi. It’ll take about 45 minutes to get there. From Phedi, our journey will begin on foot. You can find forests filled with densely populated rhododendron flowers on the trail.

We’re going through the lower Dhampus and Pothana and then we’re going to the Australian Base Camp. We’re going to have lunch on our journey to Pothana with a great view of Annapurna Mountain and Machapuchhre. After lunch we continue a gentle ascent via the Rhododendron and Oak forests until we enter Pothana. After a short rest, we’ll climb up the stone stairs and get to the Australian Base Camp.

Day 04: Trek from Australian Base Camp to Forest Camp, walk 5-6 hrs

On the fourth day, we’ll be moving towards the Forest Camp also known as Kokar. Forest camp is much smaller than the Australian Base Camp. Today we’re going on a silent path via a thick oak, maple, and rhododendron forest.

There are many breaks on this route that allow you to take a view of the mountain peaks. This time we’re going to get a little closer view of the Himalayas than Dhampus. After about 5-6 hours, we’re going to the Forest Camp.

Day 05: Trek from Forest Camp to High Camp, walk 4-5 hrs

From the Forest Camp we take the steep hill trail with a heavily populated forest trail as well. Previously, the trail is quite steep, but as soon as we get to the ridge, the trails become less steep. It takes about 2 1⁄2 to 3 hours from the Forest Camp to the Low Camp. Here we’ll enjoy our lunch and after some rest we’ll head to the final hiking target of the day, High Camp.

After an hour of hiking, the forested area of this place is coming to an end. Now we’re going to enter the grassland and come across a habitat filled with rhododendron flowers. This is definitely going to be a rewarding experience. We’re going to walk on the leeward side of the mountain. After about 4 and a half hour, we’re going to get to High Camp

Day 06: Trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp and return to Low Camp, Walk 5-6 hrs

We get up early this morning and continue trekking to Upper View Point. The route is pretty tricky at some places, and it would be helpful to bring your torches.

The happiest moment of the journey is when you see the first rays of sunshine reach the snow-capped mountains. We’re going to see Annapurna, Himchuli, Fishtail, and Mardi Himal Ranges.

You’re going to come through Yaks grazing. The clouds will be below you and all you’re doing is enjoy the 360-degree view that is on display.

This would take 3-4 hours to get to the Mardi Himal Base Camp. The altitude of the base camp is 4,500 meters. From here we have the finest spectacular views of the south face of Annapurna and all the peaks of the Sanctuary, as well as Himchuli and Machapuchhre.

We’ll begin our descent to Low Camp after exploring the base camp. After a few hours of hiking, we’re going to Low Camp where we’re going to rest and spend the night.

Day 07: Trek from Low camp to Pokhara via Kande, Walk 5-6 hrs

On a seventh day, we’re going back to Pokhara. After an early breakfast, we’re going down to Kande. The route to Kande takes us back to the forested route.

Appreciate a close-up view of Mount Fishtail before we go back to Pokhara. Admire the view of the terraced agricultural fields and the changing topography of the area as we get closer to Pokhara. This is going to be the last day of hiking, and we’re going to be in Pokhara by lunch.
