Langtang Region Trekking in Nepal – Valley, Gosaikunda & Helambu

Langtang Valley Trek is the most popular, offering mountain views and Tamang cultural experiences in around 8 days. Gosaikunda Lake Trek adds a sacred alpine lake at 4,380m. The Langtang Gosaikunda and Helambu circuit is the most complete option, covering all three areas in about 14 days.

Langtang Valley is a moderate trek reaching Kyanjin Ri at 4,773m. No technical climbing is required. With good fitness and proper acclimatization, it is suitable for most trekkers, including beginners.

You need a Langtang National Park Entry Permit and a TIMS card. Since February 17, 2025, a licensed guide is also legally required for this region — independent trekking without a guide is no longer permitted. All permits and guide arrangements are handled in advance before your trek begins.

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer the best conditions. Winter provides clear skies and fewer trekkers on lower trails, while monsoon brings green landscapes but wet conditions.
