Guide and Porter Costs
Nepal’s trekking regulations require a licensed guide from a registered agency for all foreign trekkers in the Annapurna region — this isn’t optional, and it isn’t a Mountain Hike Nepal add-on. Every package price above already includes a licensed local guide and one porter per two trekkers (15kg max, all tiers except Solo), along with their wages, meals, accommodation, and insurance for the full trek. There’s no separate guide or porter fee to budget for on top of the package price.

Permit Costs — 2026
The Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) is compulsory for this route, at NPR 3,000 (approximately USD 23). We also include the TIMS card for every client, at the agency rate of NPR 1,000 (approximately USD 8) — together that’s roughly USD 31 total per person, already built into the package price. As a registered agency, we arrange all necessary permits before departure and handle checkpoint documentation along the route, so there’s nothing for you to organise yourself.
Gear Costs — What You Actually Need
Poon Hill tops out at 3,210m and every overnight stop sits below 2,900m, so this isn’t a high-altitude gear list. A warm layer for the pre-dawn Poon Hill climb, a rain layer in shoulder season, and decent walking shoes cover most of it.

Total rental for a full trek is usually under USD 15. Most travelers who already own a warm layer and decent shoes don’t need to rent anything at all for this particular route.
Daily Trail Expenses
The package covers accommodation and meals. Out-of-pocket costs are limited to three actual trekking days (Ulleri to Ghorepani, Ghorepani over Poon Hill to Tadapani, and Tadapani to Ghandruk) and tend to run lower than higher-altitude routes, since villages here are closer to road access.

There are ATMs in Pokhara but none on the trail itself. Withdraw what you need in cash before Day 2.
Costs Trekkers Forget to Budget For
Guide and porter tips: the informal standard is USD 5–8 per day for your guide and USD 3–5 per day for your porter. Over 3 trekking days, that’s roughly USD 15–24 for the guide and USD 9–15 for the porter, usually handed over as a group at the end of the trek.
Nepal visa: USD 50 for 30 days on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. Bring one passport-size photo.
Kathmandu airport transfer: not included on this trek, same as our Mardi Himal Trek. Budget USD 15–30 for a private pickup, or arrange your own.
Travel insurance: a standard policy without a specialist high-altitude rider generally covers this trek, since it stays under 3,210m — well below the altitude threshold where most insurers require additional coverage. Always confirm your own policy’s altitude limit before you travel, since terms vary by insurer.
Return to Kathmandu: the package ends in Pokhara on Day 5. If you want to head back to Kathmandu the same day, we provide a complimentary tourist bus ticket for that leg — a genuine cost saver most trekkers don’t expect. If you’d rather extend your trip instead, see the section below.
4-Day Pokhara Version — Cost Difference
If you’re already in Pokhara and don’t need the Kathmandu leg, we also run a 4-day Pokhara-to-Pokhara version of this same route — same trail, same permits, one less travel day. Extending to Chitwan or Kathmandu
Day 6 is left open on purpose. Beyond the complimentary Kathmandu bus option above, you can extend into Chitwan National Park, Lumbini, Bandipur, or another Nepal trek. Chitwan runs about three hours south of Pokhara — jungle safaris and a genuinely different landscape after five days in the hills.
