Lukla Flight Alert:

The Government of Nepal has issued a new flight operation notice for Lukla to ease air traffic at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport. Most flights to Lukla will now depart from Ramechhap Airport, located approximately 130 km (3-4 hours’ drive) from Kathmandu, until further notice. This shift aims to reduce congestion and enhance the efficiency of operations.

Alternative Options:

  1. Helicopter Flights: Helicopter arrangements are available on a shared basis (5 persons per group) at an additional cost of USD 700 per person one-way. We will assist in coordinating groups for helicopter transfers at the airport, but arrangements cannot be guaranteed.
  2. Drive to Ramechhap: A drive to Ramechhap, followed by a flight to Lukla, is highly reliable, barring weather-related disruptions.

Important Notes:

  • Flights to/from Lukla are subject to weather conditions, which may cause delays or cancellations.
  • Travelers are encouraged to notify us of their preferred flight alternatives to accommodate their schedules efficiently.
