The Government of Nepal has announced an issue for the flight operation to Lukla. Most of the flights to Lukla will commence from Ramechhap until further notice to avoid the heavy traffic congestion in Kathmandu airport. The airport in Ramechhap is located 130km from Kathmandu (approximately 3-4 hours drive).

Caution: This Short Everest Base Camp is a 10-day hiking tour that takes you to the base of Mt. Everest 5364 meters in 6 days from Kathmandu. This 10 days Everest Base Camp Trek has no rest or acclimatization days (neither in Namche Bazar nor in Dingboche). That’s why Mountain Hike Nepal request you to examine your physical fitness and get to know the high elevation risk before you book this shortest Everest Base Camp Trek.
Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,804m) & trek to Phakding (2,623m), walking 5-6 hrs.
We welcome you in Nepal for the very first day. We fly from Kathmandu domestic airport to Lukla. Witness stunning Himalayan views on your approximately 35-minute flight to Lukla. We’ll introduce you to the porter here at Lukla, and we’ll reach Everest. The trek starts gently along a Dudh Koshi River & along excellent paved footpaths, passing scattered green valley and traditional Phakding villages. It’s about a three-hour walk from Lukla to a nice village of Phakding. Overnight in Phakding
Day 02: Trek from Phakding to Namche bazaar (3,440 m), walking 6/7 hrs.
We enjoy our local breakfast and prepare to begin one of our life’s most unforgettable adventures. Our trek starts with a gentle walk to Monjo, a beautiful settlement in Sherpa and a location where we join the Sagarmatha National Park World Heritage Site. We walk uphill and first see Mt. Everest and Lhoste before entering Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is a pretty big town and considered Khumbu or Everest region’s gateway. It is built on a steep mountain bowl with outstanding Himalayan views with all amenities such as restaurants, banks and shops etc. overnight in Namche’s best available lodge. Day 03: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3890m), walking 6/7 hours
After breakfast in Namche Bazaar prepares us today for another day’s trek to Everest Base Camp! Split views of the Himalayas — Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kwangde — are some of the highlights not skipped. A quick drop takes us to the water, and then it’s up the forest pass across the water. Brace your legs for a steady uphill trek at this stage, alternating between a gradual grade and some steep ground! Your destination, Tengboche, is regarded as one of Everest’s most beautiful locations. Its iconic views, like Ama Dablam. We’ll rest at Tengboche monastery, one of Khumbu’s highest. Nourish your soul with a guided tour of the monastery grounds, then chant and pray with the resident Buddhist monks. Overnight in Tengboche
Day 04: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4400m), walking 6/7 hrs
Today’s trek begins with a walk through the rhododendron forest to Debouche, followed by a bridge over the raging Imja Khola River. You pass the valley wall and then cross the plains to Pangboche village, the region’s largest Sherpa settlement. Take the opportunity to visit a typical Sherpa village and have lunch with the locals! The intrepid will risk a brief hike to Pangboche monastery, one of the area’s oldest. Your afternoon trek will be challenging, as the terrain is dry; barren mountains and you walk to Dingboche. Day 05: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m), walking 6-7 hrs
From here on, the trek will become more difficult due to the higher altitude. You reach Dungla, but not before a difficult, steep walk up a high hill. Here are the memorial stupas for climbers and trekkers who lost their lives to Everest over the years. The next part of our adventure leads to Lobuche, a small settlement with spectacular views of Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Pumori and the Nuptse. From here on, the trek will become more difficult due to the higher altitude. You reach Dungla, but not before a difficult, steep walk up a high hill. The next part of our adventure leads to Lobuche, a small settlement with spectacular views of Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Pumori and the Nuptse. Day 06: Trek from Lobuche to Gorkashep and EBC (5380m) to Gorekshep (5180m), walking 7/8 hrs
That’s it! Your big day provides an original, fairly simple trek from Lobuche to Gorekshep. The ensuing straight path to Everest Base Camp is tougher, including rocky dunes and moraine, allowing unconsolidated glacial debris to collect. On the way to our destination, you’ll approach the famed Khumbu Glacier and icefall on Everest slopes. At Base Camp, your target, you’ll have the opportunity (during the spring climbing season) to meet climbers trying to reach the mountain’s summit. Drop your cameras for breathtaking beauty views. As the afternoon sun starts to wane, we head back to Gorekshep for some much-needed rest and relaxation after a grueling, busy day. Overnight in Gorakshep
Day 07: Trek from Gorekshep to Kalapathar (5545m) and Pheriche (4320m), walking 5/6 hrs
You wake to Kalapathar before dawn today (meaning “black rock”) for a fiery, glorious sunrise over Mt. Everest. The first light day illuminates your spectacular view of Nuptse Cholatse and Lhotse. This may be the most appropriate time to snap amazing pictures of Everest and its neighboring peaks. It’s back to Gorekshep for breakfast and down to Pheriche, your accommodation line. As you drop, the pace will be much brisker, and traveling this way is easier. Overnight in Pheriche
Day 08: Trek from Pheriche to Namche (3435m), walking7/8 hrs
The walk from Pheriche back to Tengboche is mostly downhill, although it includes an hour of climbing a slope. We’ll be in Namche late afternoon and off to bed before our last mountain day. Overnight in Namche
Day 09: Trek from Namche to Phadking and Lukla (2850m), walking 6/7 hrs
Last day Short Everest Base Camp Trekking itinerary, This may be the longest day for your body as you walk with full energy on Short EBC Trek Day 8, but your body will follow the inspiration to get back to Lukla as soon as possible, get Hot Shower in our guest house, Organic coffee shop in the Himalayas and connect with your parents and friends to share the adventure of Short EBC Trek with high speed internet connectivity. Day 10: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu Flight time: 35 min
With your Sherpa porter today, and if you’re pleased with their services, you can give them some gratitude. Then we take the earliest possible flight back to Kathmandu with our good EBC trek completion’s long-lasting memories. While this 10-day itinerary Everest Base Camp Trek has no Rest Days, here we’ve tried our best to acclimatize to make you comfortable and cope with the high Himalayan weather to make you a great success of short Everest Base Camp Trek. When you look closely, the Short Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary has some acclimatization hiking on day 2 and day 4. On Day 2 you’ll hike to Syangboche Airport or Everest View Hotel, while on Day 4 you’ll hike to Nangkartseng Hills certainly not for view but for acclimatization as Short EBC Trek itinerary just after lunch. This little trick and ground experience makes a difference in reaching Mt Everest’s base camp in the shortest possible days.
Athletics fitness isn’t enough to do this 10 Days EBC Trek, High Altitude Awareness is most essential. Mountain Hike Nepal has no rights to suggest you are physically fit for Short Everest Base Camp Trek, you can do it easily or neither blah blah nor we promised you to fulfill your wish of reaching Everest Base Camp in the short time.
You have to follow the mentioned terms and conditions before you should confirm your booking with our Mountain Hike Nepal team. You should read them in a careful way to stay aware with respective rights as well as obligations.
Note: For Bhutan and Tibet tours, if you intend to travel directly to those countries, you will pay the balance sum 20 days before your departure date. We reserve the right to cancel your trip if you cannot pay within our agreed period.
We also consider last-minute reservations. You can book a trip to Nepal 7 days before departure. However, last-minute bookings may not be eligible for Bhutan or Tibet.
A written letter will be submitted to us, for whatever cause, you cannot travel on the assigned days.
If the Nepal tour is postponed, a minimum of US$ 100.00 is compensated as a cancelation fee, and hence the remaining balance is allocated for the postponed trip.
You have to cancel your confirmed trek/tour booking with our Mountain Hike Nepal team in writing minimum 2 weeks before your scheduled trip. You may provide this in writing document or email.
However, even though you may cancel your trip, your down payment amount i.e. 20% of the total price is non-refundable.
But if you have paid more than just the deposit, we would then 20% deduction from the sum and the remainder will be refunded from the initial payment system.
And this policy is valid right after registering your reservation with us. If you intend to cancel your travel within 30 days or fewer than 30 days within your departure date, 20 % deposit is non-refundable.
The Total deposit you made for every Bhutan and Tibet tour would be called cancelation charge. We cannot postpone any trip to Bhutan and Tibet after booked for particular dates.
We are not responsible for any refunds for any incomplete trip, trek or expedition, whatever the reasons from customer’s side.
If your tour is canceled due to unexpected events such as natural disasters, battle or adverse climatic conditions, we will arrange another tour. And that even if your trip isn’t your preference, your money won’t go in waste.
We reserve our right to change prices under various situations. While our actions must be appropriate, just like in situations such as dramatic exchange rate fluctuations, inflation or government acts, we are not liable to answer for our actions.
To attend all of our trips, all our customers should have a full travel insurance policy. Insurance must cover all medical costs, personal injuries, emergency evacuations, travel cancellations, loss of gears and natural calamity, luggage theft or injury and personal belongings.
Flight delays and cancellations are likely to occur frequently in remote areas, especially in the Everest region, jomsom, Dolpo, Simikot and Jumla. Therefore, in case of delays, it is best to bring some extra money to purchase food and lodging. Mountain Hike Nepal won’t be responsible for any extra expenses. Please, prepare accordingly.
If you perform any illegal act during your trip and you are forced to leave Nepal, Mountain Hike Nepal is not responsible for any refunds.
