Langtang Gosainkunda Trek begins from the Kathmandu Valley, it’s a 13-day trek that offers you pine forest views, slow-moving rivers and swift mountain streams, rugged rocks and snow-capped peaks, grassy valleys and fields strewn with daisies and wild premolars on the route. We’ll take 8 hours from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi from where we continue walking. We’ll grab a trial along the Langtang Khola that brings us across gorgeous rhododendron forest and birds’ voices can make your trip wonderful. You will see several lovely birds greeting us with their pleasant talk. Going on we can pass the village of Langtang and then enter Kyanjin Gompa, a Sherpa village where we will visit Kyanjin Gompa, one of the region’s oldest gompas. You will learn Buddhist monks’ lifestyle observing their ceremonies and rituals. Instead we’ll walk to Tserko Ri where you’ll see the enchanting view of Mt Langtang Lirung (7200 m) and other mountains on the coast. You should visit the cheese factory making homemade cheeses, and they are really popular. We’ll enter Lama Hotel and take a look at Ganesh Himal (7,600 m) and Mt. Langtang II (7,227 m). If luck favors us, we see cute creatures like red pandas. Moving on to Gosainkunda-a holy bay, the sight of a growing sun over the sparkling bay would certainly leave you shocked. It’s claimed Lord Shiva created the lake with his trident. We will visit some other villages; admire lovely rice terraces before returning to Kathmandu.

Day 02: Drive to Syabrubesi, 8 hrs road trip

Today’s bus ride to Syabrubesi, upon a bus ride you can hit Syabrubesi. There’s incredibly beautiful picturesque view from the bus. This will give you a rural first taste. For safety reasons, your backpack will be checked outside the Langtang National Park entrance.

Much of the route is in a spiral. The path goes up to Dhunche and down to Syabrubesi from Dhunche. After around 7-8 hours of driving, you can enter Syabrubesi, today’s destination. You’re going to sleep here for the night.

Day 03: Trek to Lama Hotel, walk 6 hrs

This is the very first day of your trek. You must trek the rural areas of the Langtang valley on this day. As this is your first day, essence, landscapes, traditions and culture, biodiversity and the sound of the forest will fascinate you. Overnight in Lama hotel

Your trip will be through the suspension bridge over the Bhotekoshi River in Syabrubesi. You’re going to hike up the hill across the Langtang River. You’ll come around the heavy Rhododendron forest on the route, and you’ll see a lot of Langurs, as well as other wild animals and birds. On the road, after the forest you can meet a small village named Thulo Syabru.

From here, the journey divides into two paths, one leading to Sing Gompa and Gosainkunda, and the other to Lama Hotel. You must follow the trail through the suspension bridge across the Langtang and eventually to the Lama Hotel. There are some lodges over there, and you’re going to stay in one that we’ve pre-booked.

Day 04: Trek to Langtang Village, 6-7hrs walk

The trail leads descending across rhododendron, oaks & pine trees. From the forest we see some Langtang snow peaks and lovely valley with grazing domestic animals including yaks, cows, pigs, goats and horses. Langtang village is one of the ancient villages along this hiking path and the view is very spectacular. Overnight in Langtang Village

Day 05: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa, walk 7 hrs

You will begin to ascend towards Kyanjin Gompa after breakfast. It is a famous Buddhist Monastery, where people come to pray from the Langtang Village. You will not fail to miss a lot of Buddhist prayer flags, Chortens, prayer wheels and Mani Walls on the way to this Gompa. Those are through Himalayan traits.

It is a mountainous setting. The vision is flawless after it enters the Kyanjin Gompa. From the location you can see the incredible view of the snow-capped mountain vistas. We will stop for the night at a tea house in Kyanjin Gompa town, after touring the monastery and the nearby village.

Day 06: Acclimatization; visit to Tserko Ri

This is the day of acclimatization. It is highly important to acclimatize before going hiking. It helps the body to adapt at heightened altitude. If you’re given a day for acclimatization, you’ll find it much easier to climb and there’s a marginal risk you’ll get sickness from altitude. But that doesn’t mean you’re going to stay all day. You’ll need to engage in activities such as taking brisk walks to nearby villages.

Therefore, we are taking a day off for acclimatization at an altitude of around 4000 m today. The closest peak “Tserko Ri” welcomes you to discover and see the enchanting Langtang sunrise and spectacular panoramic views. In the morning you’ll move towards this point. The stunning vision of the Langtang Lirung, Langshisha Ri, Gyanghempo, Yansha Tenji and Nayakang Lay peaks will steal away your breath. Upon living for the day you’ll head up to visit Kyanjin Gompa’s parts and see a beautiful sunset from there.

Day 07: Trek Down to from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel, walk 6 hrs

It is time to say goodbye to the Himalayas and to the Gompa Kyanjin. After breakfast, you travel the same way back to the Lama Hotel, walking through Mundu, Langtang Village, Ghoda Tabela and ultimately to the Lama Hotel, which takes about 5 to 6 hours.

You get to recollect and relive anything that you skipped when ascending. Since that’s the same way back, and you’re coming down now, you should relish every bit of it. Particularly those views you missed out on. The old trail of chorten, prayer wheels, mani walls, watermills, the valley and the smile of the inhabitants are things that you will miss until you return home. When you say farewell you’ll head to the Lama Hotel where you’ll be sleeping for the night.

Day 08: Trek to Thulo Syabru  – 5 hrs walk

We should head up the road for Thulo Syabru. Moving through the bamboo trees, we need to cross some suspension bridges, and then we can appreciate Ganesh Himal’s creative view. We’ll be at Thulo Syabru, passing through pine and juniper trees, and some homes. Overnight in Thulo Syabru

Day 09: Trek to Cholang Pati, 6 hrs walk

The path follows steep up to Foprang Danda {3210 m} from Thulo Syabru along the Dursang with lush scenery around & Manaslu ranges, Ganesh Himal, Tibet peaks & Langtang. We pass across Hemlock, Oak-Pine & Rhododendron. There’s even another path to get Thulo Syabru’s Cholang Pati that’s shorter than Sing Gompa. After the Foprang Danda trail goes normally flat till to Sing Gompa. We can have lunch at Sing Gompa if we get there early. You can visit a cheese factory and some monastery called Singompa at Sing Gompa. Any trekkers rest for a night. But we will go to Cholang Pati, roughly one-and-a-half hour, and then 40 minutes up Lahurebina (3920 m) from where we will see an incredible Annapurna-Langtang mountain view on the next morning if the weather is so good. Overnight Stay in Cholang Pati

Day 10: Trek to Gosaikunda Lake, 3/4hrs walk

We’re in the distance where trees seldom find. Trail slowly ascends to Gosainkunda. After reaching the top of the little hill above Lahurebina, the trail follows a rocky cliff which leads to Gosaikund. We can see many lakes around Gosaikund {believe that 108 Kunda / lake}. Majors include Gosaikunda, Saraswati Kunda, Bhairab Kunda, Surya Kunda, etc. It is assumed that Lord Shiva split his trident {weapon} after swallowing poison offered by his enemy. Overnight in  Gosainkunda

Day 11: Trek back to Dhunche , 9 hrs walk

Today we walk back to Dhunche via Singompa, follow the path left from Singompa. From here, the steep downhill trail with the scenic villages as well as a military camp where we need to show your permits. In the spring season, we can get many wild berries down to Dhunche. Overnight at Dhunche
