The Government of Nepal has announced an issue for the flight operation to Lukla. Most of the flights to Lukla will commence from Ramechhap until further notice to avoid the heavy traffic congestion in Kathmandu airport. The airport in Ramechhap is located 130km from Kathmandu (approximately 3-4 hours drive).
Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is a spectacular trekking package that will allow you to explore the major sunrise and sunset highlights of the Annapurna Himalayan ranges in just 5 days from Pokhara and 7 days from Kathmandu. Poonhill trekking is ideal for those constrained by their time restrictions and cost limits. Poonhill provides an opportunity to obtain an altitude of 3210 m which is the maximum height we will reach by taking part in an easy Poonhill trek. Poonhill trek trail remains through the forest of blooming rhododendrons and bamboos, and gives us the opportunity to explore ethnic villages of Gurung and Magar.
It is a popular trekking trail in the lower part of the Annapurna Conservation Area. This trail’s prime destination is amazing perspective at Poon Hill, from where you can appreciate interesting snow-capped mountains. The hikers will have a profound impression of this area as the path leads to forest of rhododendrons, numerous villages, lakes, heterogeneous landscapes and lush vegetation. Poonhill Treks start from Nayapul, which is within one and half hour driving distance of Pokhara. Having left Nayapul, we’ll take the dirt route through Tikhedunga, Ulleri, Ghorepani, Tadapani, and Ghandruk. This trip is also referred to as the Sunrise Trek.This trek tries the strength at Ulleri, where there are more than 3000 stone stairs, one of the highest stone steps in the country. On your way to Ulleri and Ghorepani, you see the blissful elegance of Mt. Annapurna (8091 m) and Mt. Throughout the hike, you will travel through the core of blooming rhododendrons and magnolias in the spring season. Day 01: Drive to Pokhara
Drive to Pokhara for approximately 6-7 hours. And arrive at Hotel in Pokhara. Check in & refresh, then rest of your free time for leisure. Either go to explore the lake or take a rest at the hotel.
Day 02: Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedunga
Our member of the team can greet you at your hotel in Pokhara drive to Nayapul, which requires around 1.5 hours. Then we’ll start our trip by trekking to Tikhedunga, which lasts about 4 hours to get there. The route goes via the bamboo forest, the impressive waterfalls, the peeping cliffs, the thick brush and the rugged yet majestic landscape. We’re going to spend the night in Tikhedunga.
Day 03: Trek to Ghorepani
After having breakfast, and continue our journey towards Ghorepani, It’ll take around 6 or 7 hours to get there. On the route, we’re passing via settlements like Ulleri, Banthanti and Nangge Thanti. The hike is a gradual incline through the Rhododendron and the oak forest with views of numerous mountain ranges such as Annapurna South (7273 m), Mt. Dhaulagiri and Hiunchuli. Ghorepani was originally a horse watering point that became popular with tourists for its gorgeous offering and mule caravans during the Pokhara-Jomsom trip. Stay overnight in Ghorepani.
Day 04: Hike to Poonhill and to Tadapani
You have to go for a walk to Poon Hill this day, which is 3210 mt from the sea level. And, before sunrise, you’ll get up and climb up to the Poon Hill View for about 45 minutes. The site offers a breathtaking scenic view of the Annapurna ranges , the Dhaulagiri ranges, the Nilgiri Himal range the Mardi Himal range and other magnificent peaks. And the beautiful view of the sunrise from behind these peaks is the most alluring scenery not to be skipped on this hike. After these experiences, you can walk down to the teahouse in the village of Ghorepani and eat your breakfast .Then you go to the village of Tadapani for the night.
Day 05: Trek to Ghandruk
The walk slowly falls through a subtropical forest characterized by huge bamboo massifs and large rhododendrons. Gandrung is the main village of the Gurung tribe, warriors renowned for their contributions to the successful Gurkha battalions.
Day 06: Trek to Nayapul and Drive back to Pokhara
Today we’re going to trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul and then travel to Pokhara. It’s certainly going to be a good time to get down through the beautiful views of Annapurna West, Fishtail and Gangapurna Valley. We can see the magnificent view as you ride the downhill path through the Modi Khola to Nayapul. Overnight stay in Pokhara. Our trek ends today.
