Day 01: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding- (2652)- 45 minutes flight/3-4hrs walk:
A exciting scenic flight to Lukla and a landing on a steep mountain runway led us to the start of our trek in the village of Lukla [ 2850 m ]. After meeting the supporting team, we head up the Dudh Kosi Valley through a well-marked trail and stay overnight in Phakding afterwards.
Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazar -(3440m) 6 hrs walk:
We set off for the mountain junction town of Namche after a good breakfast at Phakding; we cross and recross the river on very airy suspension bridges. The gateway to the Sagarmatha National Park, which was set up to protect and conserve the delicate mountain climate, is beyond Monjo.Afterwards we take a short walk to Namche Bazar. If the weather is clear then we get Mt Everest’s first glimpse.Namche is
Khumbu’s main trading village and has a lively Saturday marketa meeting place for lowland Hindu trader and Tibetan yak caravans passing Nangpa La glacier. The key to the Khumbu is Namche. That’s where we pass out for the evening.
Day 03: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazar – (3440m)
Amidst the massive Khumbu peaks, Namche is tucked away between two ridges and has a range of lodges, tea shops, and souvenir shops. It’s the best place to spend a day, acclimatizing to the new altitude before setting off to Syangboche. To acclimatize, visit Sir Edmund Hillary’s Khunde Hospital setup or take an hour’s walk up to the Everest View Hotel above Namche for sunset views of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Everest. Then we go to Khumjung where we visit Hillary’s school. After having lunch we begin our hike; bypassing Khimde’s path. The National Park Center and Museum both offer good views just above the village. We head down to our lodge for some drinks & good sleep after finishing our acclimatization simulations.
Day 04: Trek to Tengboche -(3860m) 5 hrs Walk:
We begin our trek towards Tengboche after breakfast in Namche, enjoying the beautiful view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and close up view of Thamserku. Our trek continues with a few ups and downs on the winding track viewing a magnificent view of the great Himalaya. We may see wild lives along the way such as pheasant, musk deer, or a herd of Himalayan Thar. The track slowly descends to Kyangjuma. The path finally reaches Sanasa, the main link between the Gokyo Valley and the Everest Base Camp. Then the road continues through the pine forests and after crossing the festooned bridge with prayer flags across Dudh Kosi River, we enter Phunki Tenga, a small settlement with a few tea houses and a small army post in the alpine trees. After enjoying a nice lunch at Phunki Tenga, we climbed steeply through the pine forests until entering Tengboche, a little bit hard. Tengboche is an outstanding place to enjoy near views of Ama-Dablam, Nuptse, and Everest and it has the largest Buddhist monastery in the whole Khumbu region. Stay overnight at Tengboche Lodge.
Day 05: Trek to Pheriche- (4410m) 5 hrs Walk:
We walk down a hill, cross Imja Khola and slowly ascend to Pangboche village. Directly opposite Ama Dablam [ 6,856 m ], this village has excellent mountain views with the gompa, mani walls, and sparse pine trees in the foreground. The two hours ‘ hike leads us to Pheriche where we’re bunked out for the night.
Day 06: Acclimatization – (4410m)
It’s a day of relaxation, acclimatization and a breather for our tired bodies. We don’t sit idle though; we also get to walk up the valley to see a waterfall, the Tshola Tsho and the perpendicular walls of Cholatse and Tawache. For the view of the Imja Valley and the spectacular south side of Mt. Lhotse we should
climb up to the ridge overlooking Dingboche. The views take your breath away here. For the night we
bunk out at the village of Pheriche.
Day 07: Trek to Lobuche – (4910m) 5 hrs Walk
We continue up the broad valley below the spectacular cholatse and tawache peaks on the left. Then we turn right and take a steep ascent to the foot of the Khumbu Glacier. At Duglha the tea house is a good place to have lunch. The path zigzags up through the terminal moraine of the glacier’s boulders. There
are several stone cairns at the top of this climb, designed as memorials to the many Sherpas who died
while ascending Mt. Everest. Then the route climbs steadily along the glacier, finally reaching Lobuche’s housing cluster.
Day 08: Trek to EBC and back to Gorakshep for night stay –(5400m) 8 hrs Walk
It’s a long and filthy day here today. After a hot breakfast at our teahouse, we climb through wilderness and moraine steps to reach Gorakshep, either by climbing to Kala Patthar or on to Everest base camp.
We suggest you make a beeline for the base camp of Everest. By the way, we don’t see Mount Everest
from Everest base camp. Nonetheless, from Kala Patthar, we can see the whole southern side of Mt. Everest and neighboring wellknown peaks; It requires also the great sights of the Tibet plateau skyline.
Overnight in a lodge at the height of (5364m).
Day 09: Trek to Pheriche Via Kalapatthar –(4210m) 7 hrs Walk
After some tea / coffee in the early morning, we have the choice to climb Kalapatthar at (5545 m) and enjoy a spectacular view of the sunrise. You will catch a panoramic view of Mt. Everest and many other mountain peaks from Kala Patthar, which include a number of famous ones:Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, and Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, and many large peaks
further. Yaks are normally considered in this region as four legged porters due to their tough terrain
which would be challenging for regular porters.Pheriche area is also recognized as an extremely windy
city. The perpendicular walls of Cholatse and Tawache can be seen hereabouts. Also situated here is the Himalayan Rescue Association Help Post, and international volunteer doctors provide medical treatment for trekkers as well as local people in this region. We stay at a lodge for overnight.
Day 10: Trek Back to Namche Bazaar- (3440m) 6 hrs Walk
We continue down our steps with a Trek back to Namche about 6 hours from Pheriche and do a full board meal (Breakfast / Dinner / Lunch) overnight in the large and hustling village of Namche. We’re
chilled out with a couple beers here and having some food. Lodge overnight at Namche.
Day 11: Trek to Lukla- (2800m) 7 hrs Walk
It’s our last day on these beautiful mountains that have been our backyard all these days. We continue to backpedal our hike to Lukla along the 7hour Dudh Koshi River from Namche and do a night at Lukla.
Day 12: Fly back to Kathmandu-45 Minutes
With your Sherpa Guide & porter today, and if you’re pleased with their services, you can give them some gratitude.
