To apply for a visa to enter Nepal, foreign nationals must obtain a Nepalese visa. This can be done either before arrival at a Nepalese embassy abroad or on arrival at the airport in Kathmandu. However, nationals from Afghanistan, Iraq, Cameroon, Ghana, Somalia, Swaziland, Palestine, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Liberia cannot obtain Nepalese visas on arrival.
Nepal visas can also be obtained at Nepalese border entry points. To obtain a visa, you will need a valid passport for at least six months, a recent digital photograph (size: 1.5” x 1.5”), and payment either in cash dollars or the equivalent local currency. The cost of the visa depends on the length of your stay:
Visa extensions can be obtained from the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu or Pokhara. It is important to note that the visa regulations and fees are subject to change, so it is best to check with the Nepalese embassy or consulate in your home country for the latest information before you travel to Nepal.
