My Unforgettable Everest Base Camp Trek with Mountain Hike Nepal
My name is Adam, and I’m from the USA. I recently had the opportunity to go on a 12-day trek to Everest Base Camp with Mountain Hike Nepal Pvt. Ltd., and it was an experience that I will never forget.
Before I start, let me tell you a little about Mountain Hike Nepal. They are a trekking and expedition company based in Kathmandu, Nepal, and specialize in organizing treks and expeditions in the Himalayan region. I found them through an online search and decided to book with them after reading many positive reviews.
The journey began with a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The flight itself was a thrilling experience, as the airport in Lukla is known as one of the most dangerous in the world due to its short runway and challenging terrain. But we made it safely and were greeted by our guide and porter, who would be with us for the entire trek.
The first few days of the trek were relatively easy, as we made our way through small villages and forests. The scenery was breathtaking, with towering mountains in the distance and colorful prayer flags decorating the landscape. We also got to see some of the local wildlife, including yaks and mountain goats.
As we gained elevation, the trek became more challenging, with steep climbs and rocky terrain. But our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, and he made sure we took plenty of breaks and stayed hydrated. He also shared many interesting facts about the local culture and history, which added another layer of depth to the experience.
One of the highlights of the trek was reaching Namche Bazaar, a bustling town at an altitude of 3,440 meters. It was a welcome sight after several days of trekking, and we enjoyed exploring the colorful streets and shops. We also had our first glimpse of Mount Everest, which was a surreal moment.
The next few days of the trek were equally challenging but rewarding. We passed through more villages and crossed several suspension bridges, which were nerve-wracking but also exhilarating. We also had the opportunity to visit a monastery and learn more about Buddhism, which is the predominant religion in the region.
As we approached Everest Base Camp, the scenery became even more awe-inspiring. We passed by glaciers and snow-covered peaks, and the air became thinner and colder. But we were all determined to reach our goal, and the support of our guide and porter made all the difference.
Finally, after 9 days of trekking, we arrived at Everest Base Camp. It was a surreal moment, and we all felt a sense of accomplishment and gratitude. We took plenty of photos and enjoyed a celebratory dinner with our guide and porter.
The journey back to Lukla was just as challenging, as we had to navigate downhill slopes and rocky terrain. But we were all filled with a sense of pride and appreciation for what we had accomplished.
In conclusion, my trekking experience to Everest Base Camp with Mountain Hike Nepal was truly unforgettable. From the stunning scenery to the knowledgeable guide and supportive porter, everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this trek to anyone looking for a challenging but rewarding adventure in the Himalayas. And if you decide to book with Mountain Hike Nepal, you won’t be disappointed.
