My 7-Day Rara Lake Tour in Nepal with Mountain Hike Nepal
My name is Florensia, and I’m from Indonesia. Last year in March, I had the opportunity to go on a 7-day Rara Lake tour in Nepal organized by Mountain Hike Nepal, and it was an experience that I will never forget.
Before I start, let me tell you a little about Mountain Hike Nepal. They are a trekking and expedition company based in Kathmandu, Nepal, and specialize in organizing tours and treks in the Himalayan region. I found them through an online search and decided to book with them after reading many positive reviews.
The journey began with a flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, followed by a short domestic flight to Jumla. From there, we traveled by jeep to Rara Lake, which is located in the Rara National Park in western Nepal. The journey was long and bumpy, but the scenery was stunning, with rolling hills and small villages along the way.
When we arrived at Rara Lake, we were greeted by our guide and porter, who would be with us for the entire tour. The lake itself was breathtaking, with crystal clear water and surrounded by lush green forests. We spent the first day exploring the lake and its surroundings, taking plenty of photos and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere.
The next few days of the tour were equally amazing. We hiked through the Rara National Park, which is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including musk deer, Himalayan black bears, and several species of birds. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and pointed out many interesting facts about the local ecology and wildlife.
One of the highlights of the tour was visiting the Rara Lake temple, which is a sacred site for both Buddhists and Hindus. The temple is located on a small island in the middle of the lake, and we had to take a small boat to reach it. The temple was beautiful, with intricate carvings and colorful prayer flags.
Another highlight was visiting the Sinja Valley, which is an ancient site that was once a capital of the Malla dynasty. We explored the ruins of old palaces and temples and learned more about the history of the region. We also had the opportunity to interact with some of the local people and learn about their way of life.
The last day of the tour was bittersweet, as we had to say goodbye to the beautiful Rara Lake and its surroundings. But we were all filled with a sense of gratitude for the experience and the memories we had created. We also felt fortunate to have had such a wonderful guide and porter, who had made the tour truly unforgettable.
In conclusion, my Rara Lake tour in Nepal with Mountain Hike Nepal was an experience of a lifetime. From the stunning scenery to the knowledgeable guide and supportive porter, everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a peaceful and adventurous getaway in the Himalayas. And if you decide to book with Mountain Hike Nepal, you won’t be disappointed.
