Manang Air Helicopter Crashes in Lobuche, Pilot Injured
Kathmandu, Nepal – October 14, 2023
A Manang Air helicopter crashed in Lobuche, Nepal, on Saturday morning, injuring the pilot. The pilot, Prakash Kumar Sedai, was the only person on board and was airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment. He is out of danger.
The helicopter was flying from Lukla to Lobuche to pick up tourists when the incident took place. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has said that a team of investigators has been dispatched to the crash site to determine the cause of the accident.
The crash is the latest in a series of aviation accidents in Nepal. In recent years, there have been several crashes involving both commercial and private helicopters.
CAAN has said that it is working to improve aviation safety in the country, but it has been criticized for its slow response to the problem.
